Eight individuals bought the $999.99 I am Rich application from the App Store before it was pulled off the store.

The developer states he does not know why Apple removed the application: Heinrich, a German software developer, has yet to hear back from Apple concerning the removal. "I have no idea why they did it and am not aware of any violation of the rules to sell software on the App Store," Heinrich said in an e-mail with The Times today.

According to Heinrich, six people in the U.S., one from Germany and one from France bought the $999.99 application. This brought Heinrich $5600 in net revenue.

By 2013 2.1bn mobile subscribers will “pay by mobile” for digital goods downloaded to their mobile phones forecasts a new analysis of the global mobile payments opportunity. According to the SOURCEWIRE, Juniper Research defines digital goods as music (ringtones and full tracks), tickets, TV, user-generated content, infotainment and games – in fact any content bought by phone and delivered to the phone.

Juniper Research’s region by region analysis discovers that there is a significant growth opportunity for mobile operators to increase their ARPU as transaction frequencies accelerate.

Report author Howard Wilcox stated: "Many digital content goods and services are becoming basic ‘must haves’ – particularly in the sub 35 age group. Devices like the iPhone – even in its 3G incarnation - are undoubtedly contributing to consumer awareness and usage of mobile music services. People who are 15 to 20 today will expect to buy directly with their phones and will drive this market over the next few years.”

Highlights are as follows:

• Users are forecast to make at least two payment transactions per month for digital goods by 2013
• Nearly half of all mobile phone users will have bought digital goods at least once with their phones by 2013
• The two leading regions (Western Europe and Far East & China) will account for over 50% of the total digital goods gross transaction market value by 2013.

Howard Wilcox continued: “Even though typical transaction sizes will remain in the $3-$5 bracket a sufficient number of users will be using their mobiles to buy music, games, tickets, infotainment and the other digital goods sufficiently often to see gross transaction value grow nearly seven fold by 2013.”

Nullriver, Inc. has released NetShare onto the iTunes App Store. The $9.99 application promises to allow you to share your iPhone's network connection with your computer. Share your iPhone's EDGE or 3G Internet connection with your computer using NetShare. NetShare provides a SOCKS5 proxy for your computer to connect to.

NetShare's inclusion in the App Store is a curiosity, as Apple must have manually approved its inclusion. It's unclear if the Application would go against AT&T user agreements. AT&T typically charges Smart Phone users $30/month extra to use tethering applications. Screenshots of the application's instructions have been included here:

This application has been confirmed to work by multiple users. NetShare is available on the iTunes App Store. Update: The application appears to have gone missing from the App Store. While the application listing still appears, if you try to purchase it now, iTunes says "The item you tried to buy is no longer available".

Update 2: For those who were fortunate enough to get the app, forum user Mac-Addict has posted a detailed tutorial.

Update 3: Developer reply: It is not clear yet why Apple took down the application yet, we've received no communication from Apple thus far. NetShare did not violate any of the Developer or AppStore agreements.

The 3G iPhone is gone on the market yesterday July 11, Friday. On same date that Apple Inc. launched its online software store called App Store. The App Store sells hundreds or even thousand of applications such as games, language translators, corporate applications, and more that would work for the iPhone. Apple Inc. hoped that by opening the App Store the same date that the 3G iPhone will be on sale, it can boost the sales of the device.

The latest App Store is the only place where iPhone as well as iPod Touch users can purchase the applications that can be used on their devices. For those who already own an iPhone, the App Store appeared in their device as an icon which is part of the free update. As for the iPod Touch users, they have to pay $9.99 if they want to upgrade their software. There are more than twenty countries that started selling the 3G iPhone on July 11. This helps Apple Inc. to gather hordes of buyers all over the world and to sell at least 10 million units before the year 2008 ends. The highly-anticipated second-generation iPhone can access the World Wide Web two times faster than the first-generation iPhone. Moreover, it also supports third-party software including games. Some third-party software can be purchased at the App Store while others are offered by the third-party software developers for free.

According to analysts, Apple has a greater chance of selling at least one million 3G iPhone units during its first week. This is mainly because Apple Inc. has reached more countries now whereas the first-generation iPhones were only distributed in 6 countries last year.

Adobe announced at its Q2 conference call that they already have a version of Flash working for the iPhone and running on emulation software.

`We have a version that’s working on the emulation. This is still on the computer and you know, we have to continue to move it from a test environment onto the device and continue to make it work. So we are pleased with the internal progress that we’ve made to date~ - Adobe's CEO Shantanu Narayen said.

But will Apple allow Flash for the iPhone? Steve Jobs has claimed in the past that the mobile version of Flash - presumably what Adobe would be porting over to the iPhone - isn’t powerful enough for use on the nimble and elegant iPhone.

The push to break away from Flash reliance indicates that Apple isn't keen on seeing iPhone Flash development succeed. That leaves Adobe all alone to tackle the iPhone Flash dilemma.

As we know the upcoming iPhone 2.0 software is providing more document viewing capabilities in the form of readers for PowerPoint, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers, but Apple still isn't providing a way to edit docs on the run.

Mariner Software announced that they are porting Mariner Calc, the Excel-spreadsheet editor for the Mac, over to the iPhone platform.

Company president Mike Wray said that their application will offer support for multiple spreadsheets per document, charts, and objects. It's also said that it will support a maximum of 1,000,000 rows and 32,000 columns per document. It is possible that it will be integrated with Mariner Calc on the Mac in some way.

According to Michael Wray, president of Mariner Software, the program is 80 to 90 percent complete. Wray told Macworld that the iPhone version of Mariner Calc will also “tie in to” new versions of the company’s Mac version of Mariner Calc - which will itself use Excel format as the native file format - and the Mariner Write word processor.

The app will be available shortly after the launch of App store. Pricing has not yet been revealed.

Connected Flow is developing an iPhone version of FlickrExport. This will be a new great application for those who use the FlickrExport plug-ins for Aperture and iPhoto, and who use an iPhone.

This upcoming app, from Connected Flow, gives iPhone users opportunity to take photos on their iPhone Camera and send them straight to their Flickr photostream. This program will undoubtedly be quite popular with iPhone users.

It will allow iPhone owners to both take photos with iPhone’s camera from within FlickrExport and instantly transfer them to Flickr, and also transfer any photos that are already in the library (although only one at a time). Users will also be able to apply titles, descriptions, tags, privacy settings, geographical information, and more, to their images - all from the iPhone.

With the Aperture and iPhoto versions, it is intended that people can use it to upload a large number of photos all at once. Conversely, with the iPhone version, only one picture can be uploaded at once.

Using WiFi, photos took about five seconds to upload, while EDGE took about 20 seconds for one shot. A price for the app has yet to be revealed.

The ifbyphone released new iPhone application that will enable users to send recorded messages without using calling minutes.

The ifbyphone telephone application platform, which will be available July 1, will deliver broadcasts either immediately or at a scheduled time set by the user. It will work with any iPhone running the v2 software. In addition, the Voice Broadcast feature will also work with the iPod touch.

Applications for Ifbyphone's Voice Broadcast technology include traveling managers who need to send a voice memo out to their staff while being away, or for parents who want to reach the entire family all at once.

Voice Broadcast will work by selecting a group of recipients from the iPhone’s Address Book, then entering the delivery date and time. The Voice Broadcast application lets you record a message, which is then sent at the appointed time. Because the message is being sent as data, it doesn’t impact the number of minutes you’ve selected in your calling plan.

The application will be free to download, though Ifbyphone requires an active subscription in order to use.

Ifbyphone is a hosted voice application and platform company with a simplified approach to the deployment of stand-alone and web-integrated voice services for small and medium sized businesses (SMB).

Ifbyphone makes it easier for customers to connect with you from online and off. All of Ifbyphone's applications are accessible via a click on a Web site, an inbound call to a toll free number, an outbound call or with the help of a programmable API.

Dont let your iPhone Sleep by the help of a new application - iWake. It allows users to keep the iPhone's screen off while letting applications use the WiFi or EDGE Connectivity for Downloads.

The new app is particularly very useful while using applications like MxTube and iSlsk as it saves a lot of battery because you can run them in background and then press the sleep button but still you will have an uninterrupted download.

To use it, just tap the iAwake icon, and it will turn on. To switch it off tap it again. You will find this app in Utilities if you have ModMyiFone repositories added in your sources.
