Eight individuals bought the $999.99 I am Rich application from the App Store before it was pulled off the store.

The developer states he does not know why Apple removed the application: Heinrich, a German software developer, has yet to hear back from Apple concerning the removal. "I have no idea why they did it and am not aware of any violation of the rules to sell software on the App Store," Heinrich said in an e-mail with The Times today.

According to Heinrich, six people in the U.S., one from Germany and one from France bought the $999.99 application. This brought Heinrich $5600 in net revenue.

Nullriver, Inc. has released NetShare onto the iTunes App Store. The $9.99 application promises to allow you to share your iPhone's network connection with your computer. Share your iPhone's EDGE or 3G Internet connection with your computer using NetShare. NetShare provides a SOCKS5 proxy for your computer to connect to.

NetShare's inclusion in the App Store is a curiosity, as Apple must have manually approved its inclusion. It's unclear if the Application would go against AT&T user agreements. AT&T typically charges Smart Phone users $30/month extra to use tethering applications. Screenshots of the application's instructions have been included here:

This application has been confirmed to work by multiple users. NetShare is available on the iTunes App Store. Update: The application appears to have gone missing from the App Store. While the application listing still appears, if you try to purchase it now, iTunes says "The item you tried to buy is no longer available".

Update 2: For those who were fortunate enough to get the app, forum user Mac-Addict has posted a detailed tutorial.

Update 3: Developer reply: It is not clear yet why Apple took down the application yet, we've received no communication from Apple thus far. NetShare did not violate any of the Developer or AppStore agreements.

The 3G iPhone is gone on the market yesterday July 11, Friday. On same date that Apple Inc. launched its online software store called App Store. The App Store sells hundreds or even thousand of applications such as games, language translators, corporate applications, and more that would work for the iPhone. Apple Inc. hoped that by opening the App Store the same date that the 3G iPhone will be on sale, it can boost the sales of the device.

The latest App Store is the only place where iPhone as well as iPod Touch users can purchase the applications that can be used on their devices. For those who already own an iPhone, the App Store appeared in their device as an icon which is part of the free update. As for the iPod Touch users, they have to pay $9.99 if they want to upgrade their software. There are more than twenty countries that started selling the 3G iPhone on July 11. This helps Apple Inc. to gather hordes of buyers all over the world and to sell at least 10 million units before the year 2008 ends. The highly-anticipated second-generation iPhone can access the World Wide Web two times faster than the first-generation iPhone. Moreover, it also supports third-party software including games. Some third-party software can be purchased at the App Store while others are offered by the third-party software developers for free.

According to analysts, Apple has a greater chance of selling at least one million 3G iPhone units during its first week. This is mainly because Apple Inc. has reached more countries now whereas the first-generation iPhones were only distributed in 6 countries last year.

"Boogie SuperStar" - Electronic Art's latest game for the Nintendo Wii system is already announced. But instead of finding Prince Charming, the goal of the game is to beat rival players' singing and dancing skills to earn the grand title of Boogie SuperStar. Players are "discovered" and whisked away in a stretch limo to an island where they hone their skills for the competition. Electronic Arts created the game specifically for female teens.

In the United States, 38 percent of all gamers are female, according to the Entertainment Software Association.

Girls - and boys too - can choose their own character and customize its name, hairstyle and outfit for their performance. They then pick music from a playlist of Top 40 pop songs, including hits from Britney Spears, Leona Lewis and Kanye West.

Unlike other popular music games such as "Rock Band" and "Guitar Hero," players of the new game dictate how their character or avatar moves on screen. The game includes a microphone that measures players' vocal fluctuations. The motion-sensing Wii controller records their dance moves.

Another upcoming girl-targeted game for the Wii, Sega's "Nancy Drew: The White Wolf of Icicle Creek," will also be released in October 2008 with "Boogie SuperStar." Analysts and critics in the gaming industry say both "Boogie SuperStar" and "Nancy Drew" Wii games are a positive step for video game publishers and will help double their consumer base.

While Grand Theft Auto IV is racking up sales records, console makers are vying for bragging rights of their own, and Microsoft seems to be the victor.

GTA IV was released April 29 and global sales totaled more than $500 million in the first week alone. The first day the latest addition to the hit Rockstar Games series hit retail store shelves, sales were $310 million. More than six million copies have been sold.

The only question is, which console is the game being played on? GTA IV was developed by Rockstar North on two platforms -- the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360. Both manufacturers are reporting higher console sales as a result.

According to news reports that claim to have the inside scoop on Microsoft's sales data, Redmond is the big winner. Reportedly Xbox 360 console sales jumped 54 percent. Other reports estimate more than 60 percent of GTA IV games went to Xboxers, leaving less than 40 percent for PlayStation 3 gamers.

Gamers who play the new Grand Theft Auto IV are able to buy downloads of the music they hear through Amazon.com. It’s an interesting twist on music marketing.

When playing Grand Theft Auto IV, players can listen to over 200 songs across 16 in-game radio stations. A new GTA IV feature called ZIT lets customers 'tag' the songs they like. When a player hears a song that interests them, they can dial ZIT-555-0100 on their in-game cell phone, and a text message appears on the phone with the song title and artist. The ZIT number is recorded on the phone for easy one-key lookups of future songs.

After playing, gamers can log on to the new online Rockstar Games Social Club community site at https://socialclub.rockstargames.com/, where they can see their stats from their game play and the full list of songs they've tagged. The site will offer a link to a customized playlist of these songs on Amazon MP3, where they can preview, purchase and download the songs as 256 kbps MP3 files.

Details of an entirely new kind of electronic device, which could make chips smaller and far more efficient, have been outlined by Hewlett-Packard’s scientists. The new components are known as "memristors". The devices were proposed 40 years ago but have only recently been fabricated.

They have already been used to build novel transistors - tiny switches that are the building blocks of all chips. Memristors were first proposed in 1971 by Professor Leon Chua, a scientist at the University of California, Berkeley. They are the "fourth" basic building block of circuits, after capacitors, resistors and inductors.

Professor Chua says: "I never thought I'd live long enough to see this happen. I'm thrilled because it's almost like vindication. Something I did is not just in my imagination, it's fundamental."

The memristors are so called because they have the ability to "remember" the amount of charge that has flowed through them after the power has been switched off. This could allow researchers to build new kinds of computer memory that would not require powering up.

Most PCs use dynamic random access memory (DRAM) which loses data when the power is turned off.But a computer built with memristors could allow PCs that start up instantly, laptops that retain sessions after the battery dies, or mobile phones that can last for weeks without needing a charge.

The Italian press believes Ferrari is set to dominate the 2008 season. Despite officials for the Maranello based team's rivals McLaren and BMW playing down the gap following Ferrari's second consecutive one-two victory on Sunday, the sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport insists that the "dominance" of the scarlet F2008 at Barcelona was "impressive".

"Not a single mistake was committed," - Gazzetta added. "McLaren and BMW are far away. After Spain, the 2008 world championship could be over."

Corriere dello Sport said of championship leader Kimi Raikkonen: "The Finn is objectively the only true candidate for the title. As in the past, this championship could become 'formula boredom'."

The Turin-based national newspaper Tuttosport added: "Raikkonen and Massa conquered Spain and demonstrated Ferrari's absolute power.The advantage over their rivals is almost embarrassing, even though Stefano Domenicali has called for restraint. Raikkonen had the race totally under control, and Massa actively supported him. This is his role, even if he does not want to admit it."

Rome-newspaper Il Messaggero wrote: "The Ferrari conductors are trying to curb the enthusiasm, but it is obvious that Ferrari's lead over McLaren and BMW is great."

And now BMW-Sauber, and probably other formula one teams, will shortly experiment with the new 'nose hole' innovation that featured on the dominant Ferrari cars in last weekend's Spanish grand prix.

Although Maranello based Ferrari insists that the
shark mouth-style feature in front of the driver position may not be used at every race this season, BMW technical director Willy Rampf confirmed that a similar concept will be trialled in the team's Hinwil wind tunnel in the coming days.

"I am almost certain that it would also work on some of the other cars so we will have a look," -Rampf is quoted as saying by Switzerland's Motorsport Aktuell publication.

Apple's iPhone is expected to enter Canadian market. Unfortunatly exact date is not announced but it seems to be nice when service get wider. So do Rogers Communications Inc..

Ted Rogers, President and Chief Executive Officer of Rogers Communications Inc. on tuesday issued the following statement: We're thrilled to announce that we have a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone to Canada later this year. We can't tell you any more about it right now, but stay tuned.

Demand for Apple's iPhone is very hight not only in canada I mean worldwide. Russia makes it fashionable and phone appears trendy the latest must-have for Russia's elite, numbering about 500,000 in all in the country already. This is despite the US$700 price that iPhones sell for in that country. Of course, this is nothing compared to the $1,800 it sold for when it was first launched in the US.

I see Apple's iPhone does not gives up. Repid market share and hight distribution lives it’s results - people like it so much. So we have to be patient and wait for the next announcement but may be iPhone already brouhgt to canada. Who knows? Even Ted Rogers keeps silent.

New Video Recording application known as iPhone Video Recorder was launched by DreamCatcher. iPhone Video Recorder records audio and video to the compressed mpeg4 format, so the recording is space saving, an-hour-high-quality recording will be a file as small as 60MB.

VideoRecorder allows consumers to save video with audio, and is offered in 2 versions. The first trial that lets you record up to 30 seconds to 15fps and obviously the second Full which has no time limit for registration. The cost of obtaining the full license is $ 19.95.

iPhone Video Recorder offers new recording method a scheme known as “postponed encoding,” in which video and audio are recorded and stored in your iPhone’s memory in raw format, and then encoded to the iPhone’s standard MP4 format at a time when it is convenient for you. This deferred method allows for the higher frame rates. One nice feature is that since the encoding itself is naturally slow, as you would expect from 412MHz worth of horsepower, they’ve added the ability to stop the encoding at any time and resume it later on.

Here are some different features of Video Recorder:

· Record both audio and video;

· Record to compressed mpeg4 format;

· Intelligent dynamic volume adjustment algorithm;

· Up to 15 fps with high-quality video;

· Playback, send out by email.

How to install? Firstly, Open the Installer, add source: http://www.iphone-recorder.com/install2 , browse to the Multimedia category and Install iPhone Video Recorder.

People who spend hours and hours playing video games exhibit the same personality traits as people with Asperger's syndrome, a form of autism, researchers say. The new UK research fuels concerns that video games could further alienate an already isolated group of people and increase mental health problems like depression. 400 gamers were examined, most of them were males.

The more time a person spent playing video games, the researchers found, the more likely they were to show three specific traits usually associated with Asperger's: neuroticism and a lack of extraversion and agreeableness. But people with Asperger's may be more vulnerable to becoming addicted to playing video games because it allows them to escape into a world where they can avoid face-to-face interactions.

People with Asperger's typically find social situations stressful. They often can't make eye contact and fail to pick up social cues, like boredom, in other people. The condition tends to isolate children and can trigger depression, which according to researchers, video games may encourage. The exact cause of Asperger's is unknown, although researchers suspect there is a genetic component. Treatment for Asperger's usually consists of improving social skills and breaking repetitive behavior, the very things video games discourage.

I’ll try being easy with games and not to get addicted gamer!

Have you ever thought that if children in Cambodian village had connected laptops how their lives would be transformed?

Questions like this led to foundation of One Laptop per Child and the creation of XO laptop.
The mission of this project is to provide children’s self-expression and exploration. While children are by nature eager for knowledge, many countries haven’t enough resources to devote to education. By giving children their own connected XO laptop, we are giving them a window to the outside world, access to vast amounts of information, a way to connect with each other, and a springboard into their future.

Xo is designed by experts from academia and industry. It’s a product of the very best thinking about technology and learning. It was designed with the real world in mind. As a result, the XO laptop is extremely durable, brilliantly functional, energy-efficient, responsive, and fun.

With the XO laptop, children aren’t just learning about the world around them. Their learning becomes apart of journey. By discovering how to use their XO laptop in new ways and exploring new ideas, children are constantly engaged in a process of learning by doing.

One Laptop per Child’s mission is to provide laptops to as many children as possible in developing nations. In order to have a maximum impact it is essential that every child in a given community has their own laptop. One way to make this happen is to work with local governments and organizations who will distribute large numbers of laptops at a time.

There is a program Give One Get One, for every laptop you received, a laptop is sent to child in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Haiti, Mongolia or Rwanda.

So you can increase your child’s knowledge and help others to do it too.

According to data released today by the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association and compiled by Chart-Track, the UK games industry racked up a total of £418.4 million in software sales in the first quarter of 2008. It appears that Nintendo is the real winner of the increased sales, scooping up 37 percent of all unit sales thanks to the success of its Wii and DS offerings, which took the top two spots. The PC was the third most popular platform for game sales, followed by Microsoft's Xbox 360. The report also shows Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games to be the most popular game in the first quarter.

ELSPA's director general, Paul Jackson, used the release of the figures as an opportunity to petition the government for increased industry support. "The UK continues to blaze a trail in terms of creativity yet over the last few years it is becoming apparent that some talent is being lured away by more attractive prospects overseas. As it stands, the UK is already down to fourth place from third as the world's creative centre for games. It is time the Government recognised the massive financial contribution we make to the UK economy, especially when compared to the film, TV and music industries." - he said.

As previously reported on GameSpot, the UK games industry employs 25,000 people and contributes £2 billion per year to the country's economy.
