Get a Web 2.0 Map Just in Case You're Lost

Sometimes I think that people went crazy about this web 2.0 thing. Versioning the web is a dumb idea. Frankly, I run my own web 2.0 site, but still think that web 2.0 is just a marketing gimmick. Of course it is a fact that the Web is in its second phase of existence but this is not the same as version 2.0. Web does not have versions simply because it can't.

One way or another, web 2.0 sites make a new universe and navigating around this universe can be a little tough. But believe or not there is a map of Web 2.0 created by Tokyo design firm. When I saw the map, my reaction was, cool, double cool.

It turns out that those guys have created this map previously. The new map features much more websites than the previous one. Despite the focus being on English language sites some Japanese, German and Chinese sites are present as well.

The map comes in different resolutions. You can even place it as your desktop background.
