According to a Silicon Valley, from Monday cellphones owners are expected to use their possessions with improved sound quality. The improved quality of sound is achieved by a tiny chip. The company’s new product offers higher quality noise suppression than the software does.
The chip works effectively. When the noise suppression chip is turned on the background noise is declining while the speaker’s voice remains clearly audible.
The Audience chip is placed between the microphone and the cellphone circuitry. And how does it work? It runs software the company has developed that takes digitized sound, represented in a three-dimensional matrix. That is the most important as they identify and then suppress noise picked up by the cellphone microphone while leaving the speaker’s voice intact.
According to the New York Times: “Speech quality is of increasing importance in the cellphone industry, Peter Santos, the chief executive, said. “Voice quality is one of the top three reasons for customer churn.””
