Nokia continues its strategic acquisitions in the media sharing business. Prior to Twango, Nokia has acquired Loudeye (acquired by Nokia in August 2006) and kyte.tv (acquired in June of this year).
These acquisitions are part of a big reorganization going on at Nokia. According to the company officials, they will provide details about Nokia's future plans for Twango's service in the first half of 2008.
Nokia's phones are one of the best on the market. Most of the high-end models are equipped with hi resolution cameras and more models are equipped with GPS navigation. In 2006, Nokia sold over 140 million connected cameras, and its devices are rapidly becoming the world’s primary source of images and videos. So, taking into consideration these facts, it is clear how perfectly Twango fits in Nokia's business strategy.
