“Fishy” Island

Have you ever thought of an island that looks like a fish from the globe overview? Isn’t it funny a fishy island surrounded with fishes inside the sea? Oh, you may think that my geography is awful, but I’m able to proof this reality. You may check out yourself via the map. Follow the instruction: It lies 3.2 km east of Java and approximately 8 degrees south of the equator. East to west, the island is approximately 153 km wide and 112 km north to south, with a surface area of 5,632 km². Oh, I think you have already found it – Bali itself – an island that makes your dreams true.

Don’t you wish to be there while your holidays, spending great time in a wild nature and wide your dreams horizon? Also you may appear a person who is always ready for innovations, who is not afraid of the highest point like Mount Agung at 3,142 m high, an active volcano that last erupted in March 1963. Mount Batur is also still active. About 30,000 years ago it experienced a catastrophic eruption - one of the largest known volcanic events on the Earth. I’m a little bit afraid but still I’d like to be there, it seems to be an interesting advantage.

Bali consists of about three million people, nearly all of who practice the Balinese Hindu religion that is deeply interwoven with art and ritual, and is less closely preoccupied with scripture, law, and belief than Islam in Indonesia. Balinese and Indonesian are the most widely spoken languages in Bali. English is a common third language of many Balinese, owing to the requirements of the large tourism industry. Could you imagine that staff working in Bali's tourist centers is often, by necessity, multilingual to some degree, speaking as many as 8 or 9 different languages to an often surprising level of competence.

Also there is a luxury service provided by many companies, those offering high standard apartments mostly like villas in exchange of some money. But it’s not all; the main goal is that you feel like a “big fish” out the aquarium.

www.in-balivillas.com is one of those who give you an opportunity to find out yourself there. They introduce you the finest Villas in Seminyak in the Island of Gods. Surrounded by Attractively designed private homes or villas close with Seminyak beach, private villas and offer the real Luxurious stay. Some packages has dedicated to making family travel fun, rewarding, and affordable for the entire family for less than the cost of staying at a good Bali hotels in Bali.

“Fishy” Island has already amazed me I hope you do so, so the rest thing that I can do is to wish you an interesting journey. A “big fish” - let it out the aquarium!

Fellowes that offers range of products to equip the workspace: paper shredders, binders, laminators, desktop accessories, record storage solutions in partnership with BackCare that helps people manage and prevent back pain by providing education and information through its publications, telephone helpline and local branches launched Ergonomix, the aim of that is to reduce the risk of RSI, back pain and other musculoskeletal disorders.

It is no news that due to the technological achievements working process became much more easier, no one needs to retype the text just because mistyped the word, or take the letter to the other office, or to the post office, even to print the paper out does not need any movement but take the papers out of the printer. Averagely the worker spends 8 hours at the computer. Sometimes the way we are sitting is not the right way that later on causes back pains.

According to the SourceWire.com 80% of Britons suffer from back pain at some point in their lives, RSI and other musculoskeletal disorders. The research made by Fellowes says that
53% of workers do not know that the work station assessments are a legal requirement,
36% of the population has never had a formal assessment,
12% admitting that their last assessment took place so long ago that they can no longer remember the advice they were given.

Fellowes and BackCare set up the website www.ergonomix.info that will help hard workers realize what are the threats and how to avoid them.

Dr Dries Hettinga of BackCare said “If you are experiencing any form of discomfort, speak up!”. “You might be entitled to a different chair or simple additions to your work station - and if your employer feels that they cannot provide more than basic equipment, y2q3ou might be eligible for government assistance through the Access to Work scheme. There is definitely no reason to continue working uncomfortably.”

Louise Shipley, Fellowes’ ergonomic expert, shares this position: “With the majority of our work now being computer based, and many of us having computers at home as well as at work, we are spending much longer at a computer and more time working than not. This, coupled with poor posture and repetitive movement, can cause strain to many parts of the body, including backs, necks and wrists.”

“Back pain and other musculoskeletal disorders can be prevented by conducting a computer workstation assessment and by taking simple steps to ensure that you are working comfortably.”

The site provides with the information that will improve sitting position and release from the probable back pain:

1. Look straight ahead
Make sure your monitor is directly in front of you at arm's length. When you're working on a document, the top line of text should be just below eye level. Don't forget that if you change the position of your chair, you need to adjust the monitor as well.

2. Keyboard in front
Your keyboard should be directly in front of you. Your shoulders should be relaxed with your upper arms free at your sides. Turn your chair sideways to check that your elbow is level with the spacebar for the correct height.

3. Avoid 'mouse shoulder'
Putting the mouse too high or too far away means that the upper arm is forced away from the body when you use it. This puts the shoulder in an awkward position and places strain on the muscles. If the position is held for a long period of time, the entire "mouse" side of the body is affected, from the neck to the upper back. Make sure you can use your mouse without stretching and with your elbow comfortably bent.

4. Take care with your chair
By law office chairs (those used at workstations) must meet a certain minimum standard. They must be stable - the classic office chair with five legs in star shape. The height must be adjustable with an adjustable seat back in both height and tilt; ideally the seat back should move independently of the seat to allow for a more comfortable position. If you feel you need more support consider a separate back support.
When you're seated, your thighs should be at right angles to your body or sloping slightly down. If your chair is properly adjusted your feet should be firmly on the floor, but if it's more comfortable, use a footrest. The basic rule is to plant your feet on the floor and support your back.

5. Keep moving
Never forget that the human body is not designed to sit for long periods, even in the best posture. Get up and move around. Shift your position often - at least every 45 minutes, every 20 minutes is even better - and stretch.

Max Mosleys ”ancestor”, former president of FISA (1979-1991) and FIA (1986-1993) Jean-Marie Balestre has passed away on March 27, just two weeks before his 87th birthday. Balestre was a passionate racing fan and a man who did much for the sport. Everyone remember the introduction of crash test requirements for cars as well as the use of naturally aspirated engines.

When he changed the rules in the World Rally Championship, following the death of Henri Toivonen, he was challenged in court by the giant Peugeot Company, the motorsport division being led at the time by Jean Todt. If the FIA had lost the case, the federation would likely have been bankrupted, but he stuck to his guns and won an important ruling which established considerable powers for the federation, which had not been defined up to that point.
As FISA president Balestre then embarked on the famous fight for the control of Formula 1 racing - known as the FISA-FOCA war - against Bernie Ecclestone, Max Mosley and other F1 team bosses. At the age of 69, Balestre did not oppose Mosley when he proposed the merger of the FIA and FISA and stood for the office of FIA President.

Nicolas Deschaux, French motorsport federation (FFSA) president, said: “It’s a huge loss for motorsport and he’ll be remembered notably for his actions in favour of driver safety. He was a great president in periods of grave crisis for motorsport.”

Current FIA president Max Mosley said: “It’s with immense sadness that we have learnt of the death of Jean-Marie Balestre. His contribution to motorsport in France and in the world was unique. All those involved in our sport will miss him greatly and will join with me in extending our sincere condolences to his family and friends at this very difficult time.”

Jean-Marie Balestre, for his many faults, had considerable charm and was a true fan of the sport, fighting for what he believed was right. I think everyone, at least in Formula One life, will miss that charm.

Technology research firm Gartner tried to clear up reports that it had said Apple might be buying 10 million iPhones capable of connecting to much faster data networks.

Gartner said that they do not know whether Apple has actually placed an order for 3G iPhones and there is no way for them to get a confirmation that an order had been placed. However, they do believe it would be logical if Apple would have done so.

“If Apple was to place an order, then 10 million would be a reasonable number. And we absolutely believe that in the next-generation iPhone 3G will be there,” - Bob Hafner, Dulaney's boss.

The iPhone currently uses an EDGE radio, a digital mobile phone technology for increased data transmission rates over a cellular network. EDGE, however, is considered a 2.75-generation technology, versus a 3G technology, such as HSDPA, which is used in Europe.

Since iPhone sales were not as strong as expected in Europe (Apple has predicted it will sell 10 million of the current iPhone by the end of the year), due in part to a lack of 3G support, it is vital for Apple to release 3G iPhones as soon as possible. However, 3G might not be enough, since there are already 3.5G devices, reports Gartner.

Gartner announced that one improvement they expect from Apple is OLED display for the iPhone. Current LCD is the most energy consuming part of the device, and having OLED screen would allow for power balance for 3G.

Just smile with a genuine smile.
It is not only the process when we curve our lips to make smiling face; it is not the gesture of politeness. But the way we smile is the indication of our fairness: wide or narrow smile, with closed or opened lips, with shining or freezing glance.

From the Physiology point of view, while smiling our body releases endorphins that send message to brain and causes confidence… satisfaction.

You give just smile and get positive emotions, satisfaction, happiness, proud, and not to say about anything else you just get smile.

There are several types of smiles: smile with closed lips that means that it is only politeness, smile with whole face, identified as genuine smile, and covering the mouth.

Smile is a very important element and comprises 3 secrets of buddy language:
As far as women are shorter for 5.5 inches than men, the best way to make woman say “yes” is to keep your eyes below women. But “leaning in” early in the conversation is definitely “No.” The guarantee of comfort between men and woman conversation is eye contact rather than looking down.

The most debated woman smile in the history of art is the smile of Leonardo da Vinci ‘s (1452-1519), young Florentine (Italy) woman, Mona Lisa.

According to the http://www.ehow.com/ smile works at work too, and gives several instructions to go ahead easier with a smiling face. To be smiley at work follow the instructions bellow:

Some bad experience? It should be resulted not by bad mood but with a smile trying to determine what the problem is.

Take time to realize the problem.

Help others to solve problems rather than be involved into these obstacles.

Are u\you a manager? You should make face-to-face communication with team members to exclude the problems.

And if the work seems boring, like you are stuck at one and the same place without any progress, analyze your opportunities and options that will make you be more smiley even at current job.

Scientists have found the faint genetic traces left by medieval crusaders in the Middle East.

The team says it found a particular DNA signature which recently appeared in Lebanon and is probably linked to the crusades. The finding comes from the Genographic Project, a major effort to track human migrations through DNA.

The researchers detected that some Christian men in Lebanon carry a DNA signature hailing from Western Europe. The scientists also found that Lebanese Muslim men were more likely than Christians to carry a particular genetic signature. But this one is linked to expansions from the Arabian Peninsula which brought Islam to the area in the 7th and 8th Centuries. But they emphasize that the differences between the two communities are minor, and that Christians and Muslim Arabs in Lebanon overwhelmingly share a common heritage.

The study focused on the Y, or male, chromosome, a package of genetic material carried only by men that is passed down from father to son more or less unchanged, just like a surname. But over many generations, the chromosome accumulates small changes, or copying errors, in its DNA sequence. These can be used to classify male chromosomes into different groups which, to some extent, reflect a person's geographical ancestry.

The team analyzed the Y chromosomes of 926 Lebanese males and found that patterns of male genetic variation in Lebanon fell more along religious lines than along geographical lines. A genetic signature on the male chromosome called WES1, which is usually only found in west European populations, was found among the Lebanese men included in the study.

People love buying things, especially people who can afford it.
Someone, who has chosen to remain anonymous, has bought the historical RB3 at the online auction that was held by the Red Bull team on Sunday night. The new owner paid €210,050 and he was proud of it.

With this purchase he took part in aid of the Wings for Life charity, a foundation set up to fund research into spinal injuries. Plus he became the owner of the legendary car which was driven by the Red Bull team member David Coulthard at the 2007 British Grand Prix. The cars bodywork was covered by a huge collage, thousands of photographs of Formula One fans.

Mozilla invited a handful of technology bloggers to come down to its office for a roundtable discussion. After long discussions about different things connected with Mozilla Firefox it became clear that no firefox would be available for iPhone.

Mozilla CEO John Lilly and VP of engineering Mike Schroepfer said that Apple’s software requirements for the device are too restrictive, and as such, they will not be making Firefox for iPhone, at least in the near future.

According to
John Lilly - "Apple has not written a license which allows Firefox to run on the iPhone."

"Android and iPhone are closed platforms. There are carriers and device manufacturers who are more open with their platform, and we'll do well there - the Nokia N810 internet tablet, for example. People can just take the (Firefox) code and run with it, so there's a lot happening that we don't even see until it shows up... XUL (the language in which Firefox's user interface is written) makes it easy to experiment on mobile devices. That's our main advantage on mobile platforms." - added Mike Schroepfer.

P.S It should be noted that 10th anniversary of Mozilla will be celebrated on Monday.

:JUNKFOOD SCIENCE is asking whether I suffer from IAD or not. Well... And seems I am under the threat to be labeled with the newest mental disorder that is called: Internet Addiction Disorder.

According to the American Journal of Psychiatry excessive Internet and computer usage may cause to the mental disease, that definitely, does not sound too lovely. What components make scientists think that it is really disorder?

The American Journal of Psychiatry figures out the following:
1) excessive use, often associated with a loss of sense of time or a neglect of basic drives,
2) withdrawal, including feelings of anger, tension, and/or depression when the computer is inaccessible,
3) tolerance, including the need for better computer equipment, more software, or more hours of use,
4) negative repercussions, including arguments, lying, poor achievement, social isolation, and fatigue

According to Director of Addiction Medicine at Beijing Military Region Central Hospital, Tao Ran, Ph.D., reported that 13.7% , about 10 million of Chinese adolescent Internet users meet IAD. In 2007 China restricted computer game use, and allows only 3 hours game use a day.

The research results and the threats are enhanced by facts - 10 cardiopulmonary-related deaths in Internet cafés, a game-related murder.

The highest rate is fixed in Korean. High school students spend an average 23 hours a week on gaming and another 1.2 million students are at risk for addiction.

China is no exception and the rate of Internet addiction might increase. According to Dr. Block the data is incomplete for the United States as unlike in Asia where Internet cafés are prevalent, games and virtual sex in the United States are accessed from home.
The risks the disorder causes are very important to identify as far as it is resistant to the treatment.

Mobile commerce is fast catching on worldwide according to new research published by Report Buyer, the online destination for business intelligence for major industry sectors. In fact, 25 million US Subscribers will use mobile telephones as mobile wallets by 2011, it finds.

The report “2008 Global Mobile - Data and Content Markets finds that mobile commerce is an important and fast-growing phenomenon, driven by convenience, globally. Authors of the report find that Japan and Korea were among the first countries to offer low-cost models to content providers. They find that mobile content markets are flourishing in these markets. Research by Strategy Analytics has suggested that Japanese consumers made contactless payments worth $900 million using their mobiles in 2006, including prepaid travel tickets.

The report states that in other parts of Asia, Taiwan’s Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET), the number three Taiwanese mobile operator, has announced plans to launch a Near Field Communication (NFC) payment services early in 2008, following a trial. It says that the trial system, which started in November 2007, is part of the GSM Association’s ‘Pay-Buy Mobile’ initiative which seeks to define a common global approach to using NFC technology to link mobile devices with payment and contactless systems.

Analysts predict that in the course of 2008, there will be further trials of mobile payments around the world, including a major European pilot conducted by O2 in the UK NFC technology on mobile phones. In addition to O2, there are numerous European mobile network operators working to develop NFC applications, including Bouygues Telecom, KPN, Mobilkom Austria, Orange, SFR, SK Telecom, Telefonica Móviles España, Telenor, TeliaSonera, TIM, Vodafone, Polkomtel, Elisa and 3.

In other parts of the world, including developing markets such as Africa, mobile phones are becoming a mode to reach the masses who would not otherwise use banking services or make electronic purchases. Since many Africans do not have bank accounts or Internet access, they do posses mobile phones.

Report Buyer is a UK-based independent online store supplying business information on major industry sectors. These include the Automotive Industry, Banking & Finance, Energy & Utilities, Food & Drink, Telecoms and Pharma & Healthcare.

Competition brings out the best in products and the worst in people. These two words standing together almost always is associated with competition. According to David Sarnoff’s saying: Competition brings out the best in products and the worst in people. Lets discuss the “best” and leave the “worst” for the other time. David Sarnoff’s saying is enhanced by the New Internet TV Research that Found that the PC has become the 2nd TV.

Matthew Halfin who led the study for co-author Simply, said: ‘The middle class study has been reborn as a US style ‘den’ where viewers displaced by a partner or child are escaping to indulge their personal interests. Instead of watching soaps under sufferance they are seeking out what they really want to watch online.’

The research of Simply and media boutique Work Research used an in-depth qualitative study methodology. Director of Work Research, Justin Gibbons said: ‘This is the first serious attempt to unpick the complexities of the new online video ecology and explode the misconception that all that’s on offer is homemade comedy and soap catch ups.’

According to the SourceWire Key FIndings are as follows:
- The PC is taking over as the ‘second TV’ in the home
- Online video viewers are thoroughly mainstream with no evidence of users being overly ‘techie’ or interested in very niche interests
- There is more to online video than comedy snippets and TV catch up. Three distinct categories of online content emerging which have been characterised: Snippets, Boutique and Catch-Up. Each is being viewed in a different way.
- There is an ‘Apex of Attention’ where needs based viewing meets relevant advertising.
- Viewers accept advertising in exchange for ‘free’ content as in traditional TVPC provides with more comfort rather than TV.

You watch, find out news, and to be more precise world news, events, talk to friends, have fun ... and through these processes the World Wide Web video advertising plays great role and is one of the effective one.

Online Video Content is categorized as follows:
Snippets
• Short form; from 5 seconds to 5 minutes
• Amateur content
• Social; shared, forwarded, watched with friends
• Mindset is experimentation, discovery, entertainment
• Anytime media – work, home, mobile

Boutique
• Mini videos; from 2 to 5 minutes
• Independent professional content
• Privately consumed; cult, niche, obscure, watched in private
• Mindset is task based
• Evenings, weekends in home Catch-up
• Longer form; from 5 minutes to feature length
• Professional/owned content
• PC becomes 2nd TV; private, comfortable, relaxed
• Needset is functional/convenient
• Peak time in home

Therapeutic cloning has been successfully used to treat Parkinson's disease in mice. The study in Nature Medicine provides the best evidence so far that the controversial technique could one day help people with the condition. The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre team says it is the first time animals have been successfully treated with their own cloned cells.

In Parkinson's disease, nerve cells in the part of the brain that controls muscle movement either die or become impaired. Normally, these cells produce a vital chemical known as dopamine, which allows smooth, co-ordinated function of the body's muscles and movement.

In this study, stem cells were developed into dopamine-producing neurons the missing nerve cells in Parkinson's disease. The mice that received neurons derived from their own clones showed significant signs of improvement. But when these neurons were grafted into mice that did not genetically match the transplanted cells, the cells did not survive and the mice did not recover.

The researchers say the therapy is promising because, as the cells originally came from the animal that was ill, they were not rejected by its immune system.

Scientists are pursuing the use of stem cell therapy for Parkinson's disease because it would allow the replacement of the dead dopamine-producing nerve cells with new, healthy cells. This should restore the supply of dopamine within the brain and allow it to work normally again.

"This is an exciting development, as for the first time, we can see that it may be possible to create a person's own embryonic stem cells to potentially treat their Parkinson's. Researchers in this area now need to carry out more studies to satisfy safety concerns and to make the process more efficient before these studies are carried out on people living with Parkinson's. Stem cell therapy offers great hope for repairing the brain in people with Parkinson's. It may ultimately offer a cure, allowing people to lead a life that is free from the symptoms of Parkinson's." – says Dr Kieran Breen, director of research and development at the Parkinson's Disease Society.

Professor Robin Lovell-Badge, an expert in stem cell research at the National Institute of Medical Research, said this was good research which showed using therapeutic cloning could be beneficial : "There was a very significant level of recovery. They only studied the mice for 11 weeks afterwards, which is not a huge amount of time to see how persistent the repaid would be."

However, the experts said much more research in both animals and humans was needed before the treatment could be offered to people with Parkinson's. The finding is able to provide scientists with a clue as to what causes Parkinson's - and could contribute to the search for new treatments.

Despite all these likes and dislikes of students the ratings do not give us objective, fair and impartial information. Because we, human beings, are subjective by nature and the evaluations that are provided by the students might be reliable but...

As we have already mentioned in this post the site includes information provided by 6.8 million students. There might be 6.8 million opinions about one and the same professor. The majority of the same opinions solve the problem and determine who is who. But reasons to rate professors negatively are possible for the reasons the professor is not faulty in. So we come up to the point that ratings might not be taken into consideration as the ratings showing 100% guaranteed statistics. For the maximum results not only professors ratings should be analyzed but also the ratings of students to come to the conclusion what is the reason to evaluate the professors positively or negatively. Though the idea of 67.8 million students does matter.

Ever wish you could catch up on your favorite TV programs while on the go? If you reside in a country that supports GSM 900MHz and 1800MHz bands, the TV Phone V10 from Brando ought to be able to do the trick without any fee. That kind of phone is very convenient for those who work under high job pressure or who is simply TV adopted.

At $305 a pop, this handset comes across as expensive when compared to other more established brands, but it looks set to remain an Asian-only cellphone as I can't see Nokia, Samsung, LG, Motorola, HTC, iPhone, or Sony Ericsson owners ditching their respective brands just to pick this up for its TV function.

I’m not going to write about TV Phone too much, it is not a new innovational product, but I have to admire that it helped me a day before I decided to write here about it.

The question we all start to ask is who will be the presidential candidate’s running mates. Former Florida Senator and author Bob McKnight offers insight on this very important question.

On the Democratic side, all sides are involved in a Clinton-Obama or an Obama-Ticket. This writer has previously opined on the national appeal of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg for president, who probably continues to watch from the sidelines with great interest. When the Mayor recently announced that he would not be a candidate, it was reported that Senator Obama called him personally shortly thereafter. Wouldn't you like to have been a fly on either of their blackberries? If we begin connecting those dots, we gravitate toward the following possible conclusions:

1. Senator Obama is the most exciting national candidate in recent memory, among Democrats, Independents, and even many Republicans.

2. With his experience sometimes in question, thanks to the relentless attacks of his opponent, Senator Clinton, Obama would be well served by selecting a strong running mate, as well as an experienced and tested inner circle to respond to any reservations about his alleged lack of experience, especially in foreign affairs.

3. Earlier this writer outlined the many reasons why Mayor Bloomberg was such an attractive national candidate for president, among them: the research (including a reported personal discussion with his friend, Senator Joe Lieberman) his seasoned staff had completed on a national candidacy, his enormous personal wealth, his personal and professional attributes, his track record as the Mayor of the largest city in the country, and his continuing access to the world's largest media markets. None of those reasons are any less important today, regardless of the position in question.

4. In my new book, The Golden Years (Sentry Press), I volunteer to the reader five names of individuals that would have made great presidents, three of which have impeccable foreign relations traditional, former Senator Sam Nunn (D., Georgia), former Congressman Lee Hamilton (D., Indiana), and sitting Senator Richard Lugar (D., Indiana). Reportedly, all have a relationship and mutual respect with Senator Obama. Please note there is a bi-partisan appeal among the three as well. This writer singled those three individuals out based upon their experience, respect, integrity, and reputation as solid Americans, and oh yes, they each have demonstrated the ability to generate political support in this country.

So, connecting the dots, a presidential candidacy of Senator Obama as president, Mayor Bloomberg as his vice-president, and Senators Nunn, Lugar, and Congressman Hamilton filling the critical senior foreign affairs positions of say, State, Defense, National Security Advisor comes to mind. Now let’s stand back and analyze the connected dots: you have the excitement of a afro-American candidate with superb academic credentials and extensive domestic policy experience, and a running mate that could step into the presidency without missing a beat. If that combination might be short on foreign policy experience, enter our three heavy weights of Nunn, Lugar and Hamilton. I might add that since the markets are a bit tense as of this writing, Mayor Bloomberg could add double duty with his calming influence on Wall Street. Perhaps the rounding out of this "Dream Team" could occur with the selection of a major Republican politico like Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R., Texas) to a major domestic policy appointment. Obviously, there could be more members of the Dream Team, but for this writer, the combination of the connected dots of Obama, Bloomberg, Nunn, Lugar, Hamilton, and Hutchinson could go a long ways to eliminate the memory of a less than perfect presidential campaign in 2008.

People whose PCs run the newest Microsoft operating system are able to visit Microsoft's Windows Update or Download Center Web sites and download the free Service Pack 1. Microsoft Corp. published a major package of updates and security fixes for the Windows Vista operating system for download starting Tuesday.

Microsoft announced that SP1 improves Vista's reliability, security and performance. Some early testers of the service pack have noticed improvement in performance when copying files over a network and playing video games that weren't designed for Vista. Microsoft said SP1 will block several applications from running for "reliability reasons." The list includes BitDefender Antivirus and Internet Security, version 10; Fujitsu's Shock Sensor hard drive protection for rugged laptops; two versions of Jiangmin KV Antivirus software and Check Point Technologies' Zone Alarm Security Suite.

The company said a few programs won't run on SP1, such as Web application design program Iron Speed Designer, while others will stop working well, like The New York Times Reader application.

U.S. video game sales including hardware and software jumped 34 percent in February to hit $1.33 billion, even with two top-selling consoles in short supply, according to data from market researcher NPD Group.

Nintendo's Wii and Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 have been in such high demand stores are having a hard time keeping them in stock. Microsoft spokesman David Dennis said the company moved up shipments during the holidays and hasn't been able to catch up since. He added: "we should be in good shape" by the time "Grand Theft Auto IV," the highly anticipated latest installment of the Rockstar Games franchise, hits store shelves April 29.

The game, which will be available on the Xbox 360 and Sony Corp.'s PlayStation 3, is expected to boost sales mutually of both consoles. Pre-orders have been better than expected, according to its publisher, Take-Two Interactive Software Inc.

Michael Pachter, an analyst with Wedbush Morgan, expects the game to sell about 9 million units during the company's fiscal year, which ends in October. Roughly 6 million of this, he added, will be to Xbox 360 owners.

February is normally a slow month for video game publishers coming off holiday highs, and consumers have also been cutting back spending amid economic worries.

Game hardware sales rose 19 percent during the month to $480 million, NPD said late Thursday. Of this, the portable Nintendo DS was the best-seller with 587,600 units, followed by the Wii at 432,000. The Xbox 360 sold 254,600 units even amid supply constraints.

"It appears that Wii and DS shortages abated in February, likely in anticipation of strong March software launches," - Pachter wrote in a note to investors.

Going strong since its launch in 2000, Sony's PlayStation 2 continued to outpace its successor. The PS2 sold 351,800 units compared with 280,800 for the PS3.

February's software sales grew 47 percent to hit $668.7 million, with Activision Inc.'s first-person shooter "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" at No. 1 with 296,200 units sold for the Xbox 360. Capcom USA's "Devil May Cry 4" and Nintendo's "Wii Play," which comes with a remote and includes games like pingpong and fishing, also did well.

The NPD Group was founded in 1967. Today it is the global provider of consumer and retail market research information for a wide range of industries.

Hi!
If you read this post I guess you are a Blogvasion reader?! Man or woman? Well, it does not matter. Why? I will answer this question at the end of the post if you do not mind. Be sure there is no gender discrimination at Blogvasion. Even the “Dream Teamconsists of 4 women and 3 men. Still we, women are in majority. Not only “Dream Team” but world statistics show the same results. But human beings are of different opinion about man and women smartness. And today I decided to cover this topic with humor. Though there always is the seed of truth in every joke.

According to the jokes-o-matic.com:

A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.
A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need.

A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.

A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

To be happy with a man, you must understand him a lot and love him a little.
To be happy with a woman, you must love her a lot and not try to understand her at all.

Married men live longer than single men, but married men are a lot more willing to die.

Any married man should forget his mistakes, there is no use in two people remembering the same thing.

Men wake up as good-looking as they went to bed.
Women somehow deteriorate during the night.

A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't.
A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, but she does.

A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

And the Math of Life is:

Smart man + Smart woman = romance
Smart man + dumb woman = pregnancy
Dumb man + smart woman = affair
Dumb man + dumb woman = marriage
Smart boss + smart employee = profit
Smart boss + dumb employee = production
Dumb boss + smart employee = promotion
Dumb boss + dumb employee = overtime

Now the answer to your question: Why the gender does not matter for the BLOGVASION?

Smart man and smart woman both read BLOGVASION posts ;-)
