CIOL, with the slogan “Making IT Your Advantage” announces that on 2 March 2008 FiveFabMums.com will be launched to help mothers and give advice on parenting issues. The study about it was commissioned by Tixylix.
According to the research provided by the part of Novartis Group, mothers feel more comfortable consulting online. The reason is less possibility to be judged by different people. Study results show that only two percent of mothers felt judged by online peers and the quarter by neighbors and other people who might be in relation to the family or surrounding.
Dr Jenny Leonard, Parenting expert said: “The findings reflect a growing trend for modern mums to seek advice and support from a wider range or sources than ever before. The internet in particular allows mums to feel connected to the outside world and to seek answers to parenting questions quickly and also without feeling embarrassed or judged.”
The study and experience will be based on five real modern day mums and kids through photos, videos and other suitable materials. The network will include interactive process between parents that aims to share life experiences, ask, and answer questions...
The results differ between modern mothers and 1970s.
“For example, social support groups such as coffee mornings are on the increase, with 54% of mums today attending regular meetings compared to only 34% of mums in the 1970s. Many modern day mums also say that online parenting portals can provide crucial support and 20% regularly log on to online parenting portals when they need advice in a hurry.”
It is available to take part in this initiative and one of the ways to do so is to apply online at http://www.tixylix.co.uk/. The choice of the responsible people whom to chose to be involved in this project is made only by the 31st December 2007, successful applicants will be notified. The final five mums will be selected by a panel of judges, including leading parenting coach Dr Jenny Leonard, at a special audition weekend on 5th & 6th January 2008.
